Canada visa for Indian passport holders

Canada usually issues a ten-year multiple entry visitor visa. The application is entirely online, and the letter of explanation is what turns a set of documents into a case.

How the Canada visa works

A Canadian Temporary Resident Visa for tourism or family visits is filed online through the IRCC portal, with biometrics given at a VFS centre in India. Officers commonly issue a multiple entry visa valid until the passport expires or up to ten years, with each stay limited to six months. Processing times are published by IRCC and move constantly, from about a month to considerably longer in peak periods. Because there is no interview, the written file carries the entire case, and the letter of explanation is the part applicants most often skip and most often need.

Where Canada applications go wrong

Weak or missing letter of explanation

There is no interview, so nothing is explained unless you write it down. Career gaps, unusual bank activity, a previous refusal or a complicated itinerary all need to be addressed in the letter itself.

Sponsor documents that do not match the invitation

When a relative in Canada invites you, their status document, income proof and address must line up with the invitation letter. Mismatched addresses between the letter and their utility bills raise doubt about the whole file.

Biometrics validity is misunderstood

Biometrics remain valid for ten years across applications. Applicants who have given them recently for another Canadian application do not need to repeat them, and repeat visits to VFS waste time and money.

The process, step by step

  1. 1

    Eligibility and route

We confirm whether a visitor visa or the Super Visa fits your situation, and check whether your biometrics are still valid.

  2. 2

    Online application

Forms are completed on the IRCC portal and the document set uploaded in the structure officers expect.

  3. 3

    Letter of explanation

We draft the letter that carries the case β€” purpose, funding, ties to India and any previous refusal, written for an officer who will never meet you.

  4. 4

    Biometrics and decision

You attend the VFS centre for biometrics where required. The decision arrives in the portal and the passport is submitted for stamping once approved.
